Well, to make money they hope you upgrade to their paid services (usually more storage space). If you’re a business user this would probably make sense, but for most of us the 1 – 50GB of free storage is enough for our documents.
No. 1 Dropbox
Now I love Dropbox. I’ve used them for many years and the features are so flexible. I can use Dropbox on my Mac, my PC and laptop and also my iPhone. The documents are sync’d over all devices which is a bonus and a number of us can work on the same file! My sister and I were designed a birthday card for our mother. My sister and I live thousands of miles apart, but we worked seamlessly on this card! Dropbox allows 2GB of space, but you can accrue more by recommending friends and family. Read more...
1. Security.
You have to make sure that the one you get ensures that your files will be safe and secure. When looking at different companies and the server backup products they offer, you have to make a habit of thoroughly reading through all of the information they provide. It is also recommended that you look for and read through the customer reviews of every server backup product you consider. A reliable and effective company will only contain customer reviews that are extremely positive. If a company has a customer review that is negative, even if it’s just one comment, then, you better find another one. Read more...
There are many things to consider when evaluating a back-up solution. Most companies look to strike a balance between protecting their valuable Data from total loss, and planning how best to rapidly redeploy saved data in the event of a loss.
Each year the number and types of solutions that exist become more robust, with features that can truly help a company to all but eliminate downtime in the event of a catastrophic hardware failure, or to recreate a functional operating environment in the event of a natural disaster that affects the business. Having a cloud backup service store data for you offers many advantages. One, of course is the ability to get to store large amounts of data without worrying about consuming storage space on your computer. If the same is done on a larger scale, you don’t have to worry about your server getting overloaded and running slow due to the information overload. Some companies run their data without having an online backup service. In such companies, a server breakdown can mean temporary loss of important company information. Read more...
COST
This is the very first factor that you should look into. If you are a student or a regular employee, it is highly recommended that you avail of services that are very affordable. No other standards asked- a more affordable plan is better for students and regular employees who do not use online backup that much (lower than 20GB of data used regularly). But it never hurts to purchase a more expensive plan, albeit the functionality that you want to achieve is just the same. However, if you are into business, job classified data, server files and other data-heavy activities which can be highly classified and crucial, a more expensive company would be better. Although the high cost might not entail good service, an expensive plan in a well known and top-downloaded backup company can mean some good service. But don’t base your choice through this standard alone. Read other standards below before you finally choose the company you want to avail your services into. Read more...
Most files can be fixed, given enough time and effort…and assuming you can find a copy somewhere. For instance, videos and music files that you came across online. There are those though, that can’t be replaced so “effortlessly”. Things like family snapshots, business logs, videos of the babies from years gone by…Why offer them as sacrifices to the unmerciful computer gods? Especially when there is so much available in today’s world to prevent it? Especially when it can be done for little or no cost? One of the most common alternatives, of course, is simply to backup your files on discs! The issue with that though, is time, effort and energy. Not to mention the fact that you’ll end up with a quantity of discs somewhere on your work desk to stay on top of. Read more...

Data recovery is the process by which a computer hard drive is examined and, if necessary, repaired to extract lost or otherwise inaccessible information. Due to the sheer complexity of a hard disk, a diagnostic process needs to occur before the data recovery can go ahead.
Hardware problems are responsible for many instances of hard drive failure, as the standard hard disk is a collection of many sensitive components. The circuit board can malfunction, as can the actuator arm or the mechanism that causes the disks themselves to spin.

On my last trip to New Jersey, I came across the concept of Data Recovery Services. These services involve, applying various recovery tools and techniques to extract all the data comprehensively from the hard drive for computer data recovery, and from laptops, external hard drives, servers, RAID arrays, memory cards, USB devices, etc. for recovery from these media.
I went three months back to US, to meet some close relatives. Once there, our families gelled with each other very well, considering, our kids were meeting for the first time. Though on vacation, I helped my cousin, off and on, who had established his business in Edison. We worked hard during the weekdays, and visited various parts of the city, during weekends. On one such trip, we went to Rutgers Ecological Preserve, which is known not just for its history, but also for its scenery.
