As everyone knows, when a customer gets good quality customer service, they tell someone they know. These days, that “someone” could be their entire circle of friends on twitter, Linked-In or Facebook. Conversely, the same goes if they have a negative customer service experience. Using a Motorola CLS 1110 or a Motorola CLS 1410 two-way radio can help you provide that necessary fast and efficient customer service, and help you to succeed in today’s technology-driven marketplace.

It is essential to understand the frequency differences on offer so that communication is reliable and as interference free as possible depending on the environment the radios operate in. VHF, or Very High Frequency, operates on frequencies in the 136 Mhz – 174 Mhz range and are typically best suited for use outside on open land or rolling hills with few trees.

UHF, or Ultra High Frequencies operate on frequencies in the 450 Mhz – 470 Mhz range and are generally more popular than VHF because they offer better range inside steel or concrete structures and crowded inner-city areas.

The advantages of mobile two way radios is that they can be used without call costs to stay in touch in a variety of situations. They are excellent for family camping trips, shopping mall outings, and at sports events. The biggest disadvantage however, is that they achieve their peak operating performance in a line of sight environment. As soon as you introduce obstacles such as walls, trees, and hills into the equation, their performance can degrade considerably.

Motorola Mobile Radios
Generally, two way mobile radios will either fall into the FRS or GMRS range. However, almost all Motorola mobile radios have the ability to take advantage of the FRS or GMRS bands. This ability gives the user access to all 22 channels, providing they have a GMRS license.

In order to understand the meaning of RF loss and its impact on RF propagation, there is a need to understand the behavior of RF signal itself. Radio frequency signals (RF) are high frequency ac signals generated by RF device and pass along a metallic conductor (e.g. copper wire) and then radiated into the air through an antenna. What happens is that electrical signal in the metallic conductor get converted into wireless signal by an antenna at the transmitter end and the reverse is the case at the receiver end. Antenna produces radio waves at the transmitter end which propagates away from the RF device source in a straight line in all direction.

The first consideration is how much power you will need. There are three considerations to correctly determine the amount of power you will need.
ยท One consideration is what type of power your power supply will use as an input and output. Most of us are familiar with what we ham radio operators call a “wall wart”. A “wall wart” is the type of converter that plugs directly into your house’s AC outlets (wall outlets). They usually are small plastic box-like plastic contraptions with a small power cord and plug at the other end of it. You probably have used one for a radio, cassette player or other small device from time to time. In this instance, the AC (alternating current) is being converted to DC (direct current).

UK Radio has come a long way since the first tentative signals were broadcast by Marconi, and without providing an accurate count there are several hundred UK radio stations broadcasting across the whole of the frequency spectrum, from short wave through long wave, medium wave and of course FM VHF.

All of these UK radio stations are broadcasting using a medium that has been exploited from the early years of the 20th century, but with the coming of age of the internet in this broadband enabled world, high fidelity stereo broadcasts are now available to anyone that has a broadband internet connection.
